The Port Townsend Angler is a
full-service fly shop featuring Locally Tied Flies and top of the line equipment.
Our
staff has years of experience, fishing all over the world. We teach both fly fishing and
fly tying to hundreds of anglers each year offering both classroom instruction and
on-the-water seminars.
Weather you are new to fly fishing or a veteran angler, we have
classes that will help achieve your goals.

Learn the basics of fly tying while tying three
highly effective and versatile fly patterns. This is a hands on
two-hour instruction that will teach you all you need to know to
start tying flies.
Participants must supply their own vice
scissors and bobbins. All other materials will be supplied by
the Port Townsend Angler.

The objectives of the day will be to give our
guests all the information and skills they need to catch trout
and salmon on the fly from Puget Sound beaches.
The morning will begin with pasties coffee and
fly fishing knots. Then we will move on to the basics of
fly-casting. In the afternoon we will continue with presentation
and fly selection for sea run cutthroat and Coho salmon.
Participants must have warm clothes, rain
gear, waders and felt soled boots. We will supply rods and reels
if needed.

Learn to catch more Coho from the beach This workshop will cover the real minutiae of beach fly-fishing for Coho.
The objectives of the day will be to give our guests all the information and
skills they need to catch trout and salmon on the fly from Puget Sound
beaches. The morning will begin with pastries coffee and a detailed discussion of
productive beach fishing locations. Followed by, tides and times, fly
selection, presentation, and appropriate gear choices. For the afternoon we
will head out to the beach for hands on instruction.

Basic fly-fishing skills with an emphasis on
the techniques used to catch trout in streams. Guests will learn
knots, basic casting technique and the flies and presentations
that are most effective for catching both resident trout and
sea-run cutthroat in peninsula streams..
Participants must have warm clothes, rain
gear, waders and felt soled boots. We will supply rods and
reels if needed.
